After COVID-19, Man dies of new 'Hantavirus' in China 2 days ago.
Coronavirus pandemic is are already devastating and the world is fighting against this lethal diseasse, now the news came from china that a person from Yunnan Province of China died while on his way back to Shandong Province for work on a chartered bus.
According to the details the man was was tested positive for hantavirus. The authorities tested 32 other people too.
What is Hantavirus?
Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome (HPS) is a respiratory disease in humans caused by infection with hantaviruses.
A person who comes into contact with rodents [A mammal of an order that includes rats, mice, squirrels, hamsters, porcupines, and their relatives, distinguished by strong constantly growing incisors and no canine teeth] that carry hantaviruses is at risk of HPS.

The presence of an unusually large number of Rodent in and around the home remains the primary risk for hantavirus spread.
Hantavirus symptoms
Patients with Hantavirus have experienced fatigue, fever, and muscle aches, along with headaches, dizziness, chills and abdominal problems.
If the patient left untreated, it can lead to coughing and shortness of breath and can be fatal, with a mortality rate of 38 percent according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Transmission of Hantavirus
According to the research, the disease can spread to people if they come in contact with urine, feces, and saliva of rodents and less frequently by a bite from an infected host.
Prevention and Treatment for hantavirus
Stay away or minimize contact from places where rodents leave droppings. Wear rubber gloves and a mask that covers your nose and face during exposure to mouse droppings.
Washing hands regularly or use sanitizers and also sanitize the areas containing mouse droppings so infected dust does not spread in the air.
There is no treatment for hantavirus discovered till yet but early diagnose of the infection can prevent the patients from dangerous outcome as the patient can receive supportive care including oxygen therapy, fluid replacement, and blood pressure medications. In some cases kidney dialysis may be needed.
